Collection consists of correspondence, minute books, certificates, ledgers, periodicals and other material relating to the Woodmen of the World fraternal benefits society. The Woodmen formed lodges all over the United States in order to provide benefits to their membership, including life and health insurance, annuities, investments and home mortgages. The organization was formed as the result of a meeting held at the Windsor Hotel in Denver, Colorado in April of 1890.
